Downtown Toronto Condos continued to increase for the beginning of 2010.

The largest Toronto Real Estate District, (C01) recorded an average Condominium sales price of $397,402 for January 2010, compared to $320,532 for the same month last year. This average price for a Condo in the downtown Toronto area resulted in a 24 per cent increase year over year.

One standout in the January 2010 statistics was (C02) with the average Condominium sale price of $629,500, a $250,112 increase of 66 per cent  from January 2009.

The St Clair Avenue area of Toronto (C03) recorded the average resale Condo price of $941,000, increasing by $269,167, a 40 per cent increase from January 2009.

We prefer to monitor the larger Toronto Condo Districts like (C01,C08,C07,C14,C15) because these districts have the most sales in comparison to the other Real Estate Districts in Toronto.

There continues to be a shortage of listings and as a result many of the resale Condos in the Central Districts were sold over asking price.
