The Teranet-National Bank Composite House Price September Index reported Canadian home resales rose for the fifth month in five of six major Real Estate markets they survey.
This index differs from other surveys as it only measures repeat sales with the subject properties sold at least twice before entered into their calculations.
Their September report showed homes in Canada up 1.3 per cent in price change from August, the smallest increase in four months.
- Toronto resale prices up 1.5 per cent
- Vancouver resale prices up 2.1 per cent
- Calgary resale prices up 0.9 per cent
- Halifax resale prices up 1.7 per cent
- Montreal resale prices down 0.2 per cent
Year-over-year national prices were down 1.8 per cent from September 2008
