Falcona Camp

 

 

Falcona Camp, more to come about the memories of summers spent in Northern Ontario.

Camp Falcona is a children's camp near Falconbridge that was originally run by Falconbridge Nickel Mines for the employees children. It is now run by the YMCA. Nelson Lake was the setting and children attended for 1-4 weeks in the months of July and August.

My married name is Nihill...

 

Some of the names of former Falcona Campers like Moore, Larson, Macdonald, Comba, Wilson, Purdy, Boone, Rivet, Mather, Lapierre , White, North, Franklin and Barton, are just some of the campers I have heard so much about.

 

I also heard that on occasion after lunch or dinner, Jack Nihill, the Falcona Camp director, on request by the campers would speak in Chinese...that I would have liked to hear!
